Pizza Fritta

Did you know that fried pizza exists? Well, I didn’t. When I first heard about it, my reaction was “where have you been all my life??” Pizza fritta, which translates to “fried pizza”, comes from Naples and it is absolutely delicious. 

The fried dough is a completely different texture than it’s oven-baked counterpart. It’s lighter and airier, and can be topped with anything, sweet or savory! I went savory here, keeping it simple with a garlicky tomato sauce and some burrata for good measure. This was my first time making it and I am planning on doing so again!
